While most Jalopnik readers are more likely to lower their cars, the buying public demands sedans with all-road capability, and Volvo is here to answer their prayers with the S60 Cross Country.
Are you familiar with the V60 Cross Country, Volvo's rugged wagon? Well, here it is in sedan form.
Just like the wagon, the S60 Cross Country comes with an increased ride height of 65mm (2.5 inches) with (optional) 19-inch wheels wrapped in high profile tires and maximum traction provided by the Haldex all-wheel-drive. It will also be available with front-wheel drive in Europe and other selected markets.
The US, Canada, Russia and Europe can have it with the T5 powertrain producing 250 horsepower, while the entry level cars come with the 190 hp 2.5 five-cylinder D4 diesel, which will also be available with all-wheel drive as an option.
The Swedish believe they invented something new with their "crossover sedan". Would you agree?
