RAMCAT: This Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat Is The 707 HP Truck America Deserves

"Not at this time." That's what Ram Trucks' CEO Bob Hegbloom has to say about a Ram powered by the mighty 6.2-liter, 707 horsepower supercharged V8 in the Challenger and Charger Hellcat. That's no fun. But because America deserves that truck, here are some renders to fuel your truck-hooning dreams.

Topspeed cooked up some great renders of what a Hellcat-powered Ram 1500 could possibly look like. It's pretty sharp-looking, if I do say so myself, even though it looks like it's built more for burnouts than heavy-duty hauling.

The Ram 1500 SRT Hellcat render takes numerous cues from the Hellcat Charger and Challenger, particularly the front headlamps, grille, and hood scoop.

The truck would need some substantial tweaking, but they estimate a four second zero to 60 mph time if it got that engine. That's pretty insane for a truck.

Like Topspeed, I agree that the SRT-10 is due for a comeback:

This wouldn't be the first time Ram — or Dodge at that time — has put a ridiculous powerplant behind that crosshair grille. Between 2004 and 2006, Dodge produced the Ram SRT-10 fitted with the same 8.3-liter V-10 that came in the Viper. With 500 horses, 525 pound-feet of torque, and a manual transmission, the SRT-10 was anything but conventional.
