Police in Missouri have made an arrest in connection with the slaying of student Taylor S. Clark, 19, who was seeking to sell his Nissan 350Z on Craigslist. They say the suspect shot and killed Clark on his lunch break and then went back to work.
TV station KSDK reports 24-year-old Michael Gordon, pictured above at left, has been charged with murder in the case. Police say Gordon met up with Clark through Craigslist to possibly buy his car. Clark met up with Gordon at a truck driving school where Gordon worked on Monday afternoon. They went on a test drive of the 350Z during Gordon’s lunch break.
Clark was reported missing not long after.
On Tuesday night Clark’s car was found at the truck driving school, and his body was found in a wooded area not far away. Police tracked down Gordon through searches of email and phone records.
What hasn’t been disclosed is why police think Gordon shot and killed Clark. Florissant Police Department Capt. Tim Fagan:
“I’m not going to specifically talk about motive,” said Fagan when asked why this meeting allegedly turned to murder. When asked if there were signs of a struggle between the two, Fagan would only say Clark was “shot one time.”
Gordon remains in jail on $1 million bond.
