When a car manufacturer sets out to create a car to celebrate an anniversary, they sometimes end up with a beige box that now has some new headrests and then they call it a day. Thankfully, not all car companies think like that, as we were shown with the Aston Martin CC100 Concept today.

The anniversary edition is meant to celebrate, to express joy, to show all that the past XX amount of years have led up to. Sometimes they mostly consist of an overpriced paint job to celebrate entering China, other times it's to celebrate an important race, or even the creation of the brand itself.

Like the Mercedes McLaren SLR 722, the BMW 328 Hommage was created to celebrate the old Mille Miglia race in Italy. BMW created theirs to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the BMW 328, which to this day holds the record for the highest average speed at the Mille Miglia with a mark of 103 mph.
