This Datsun Pickup Has The Heart (And Face) Of A Sports Car

Built for SEMA, this JDM 1974 Datsun Sunny 1200 pickup packs 2.2 liters of Nissan Silvia turbo and the front end of a Skyline. A job done right.

These tiny domestic market unibody trucks weren't ever designed to haul like a heavy duty, so it's only logical that four decades later, one lines their beds with carbon fiber, cuts seven inches off the ride hight and multiplies the driving force by 500 percent. The four cylinders of a 2 liter stroker motor fit the chassis just fine.

And since all that makes this one hell of a fast Datsun, the Skyline facelift feels justified as well.

Jay Leno liked the way it pulls.

SEMA should have more builds like this.
