This Could Be The New BMW Supra But It Definitely Has Cool Taillights

There’s really a lot that we don’t know about the upcoming BMW/Toyota Supra/Z-number sports car project. Engine, transmission, styling—we have good ideas, but no definites. To this list of uncertainties we add: some cool-as-hell taillights.

Again, we do not know for sure that these are officially official taillights for the BMW/Supra (BMW-Supra?). They look a little bit like the aftermarket LEDs people put in the back of FD RX-7s. Whatever they are, they are neat. They look like they are from a near future, one where everyone has an octopus for a pet, right before we realize that it was the octopodes that were controlling us all along. They are too smart.

Too smart, I say.

A reader sent this clip in while driving through Long Beach, seeing the car take an exit onto the Pacific Coast Highway.

Now, if you were to take the PCH up from Long Beach, eventually you would hit BMW North America’s offices in Oxnard, where you regularly see BMW prototypes running around. The last time I was there, I watched a Mini cook its brakes on a canyon road. Good stuff.

However, this prototype was turning south, perhaps having already done some sort of coastal run, perhaps not.

In any case, please enjoy how tantalizingly close at least one of us came to the new BMWSUPRA (?) on the road, physically if not temporally.
