These Are The Most Underrated Movie Cars
A good movie is made even better by great cars, but some of these cars didn't get their due credit.
Cars make the best movie stars, but some of the neatest models were sadly overshadowed in the films that featured them. We're here to correct that oversight, and give some credit to these movie stars that may have been given less screen time in favor of their car cast-mates.
The DeLorean may have essentially been the third movie star of the Back to the Future franchise, but Marty's '85 Toyota Pickup has proven to be an enduring and near-perfect example of a cool truck.
Or, in the case of the film Ronin, officially "the car chase movie," it's the BMW E34 5-series that gets most of the attention, while the Audi S8 just quietly and admirably does its job. That changes after today! We asked our readers which movie cars were the most underrated, and here are their answers:
1985 Toyota Pickup
You must mean the most important vehicle in the Back to the Future franchise. The producers spent three entire films of a movie franchise focusing on a time travelling Delorean, and totally missed the star of the show.
The 1985 Toyota Pickup SR5.

1984 Honda Elite
The most underrated movie car isn't a car at all, it's a Honda Elite scoot with pop-up headlight. It just doesn't get any cooler.

1972 Citröen SM
I feel like we don't spend nearly enough time talking about Burt Reynolds' Citroën SM in The Longest Yard.

1968 Dodge Charger
The Charger in Bullitt. The Mustang gets all of the glory from that movie, but that Charger deserved more recognition.
Also, that Chrysler M4S Turbo Interceptor from The Wraith. The movie kinda sucked, but the car was awesome for its time.

1959 Nash Metropolitan
This one is very easy... the two-tone 1959 Nash Metropolitan 1500 hardtop coupe from 1988's cult-classic "UHF". Although, it appears to be in near perfect condition, which you would not expect as it is owned by the lovable-loser of a always-down-on-his-luck protagonist, and is a stark contrast to say The Dude's '73 Gran Torino (which, honestly no one remembers the make or model of anyways). That's why this one is instantly memorable. It doesn't steal the show, it just adds to it.

1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88
Sam Raimi's Delta 88 has been in more movies than some A-list actors. It's always fun to keep an eye out for it in his films.
