Car design is a funny thing. I remember the first time I saw the new Supra, I hated its bloated, bulbous haunches. Then one day for reasons I can’t and will never be able to explain, it clicked. Meanwhile, the C8 Corvette still hasn’t for me and at this rate probably never will.

We asked you what cars look fantastic from one angle and terrible from another. Here were your answers.

Jensen Interceptor

Front of a cool looking muscle car

Back like an AMC Pacer

One could also argue the weird back was what made it different from every other cool but similar muscle car.

996/986 Porsche with those awful headlamps. Every other angle of those cars is uniquely Porsche. Those headlights couldve been scooped from the Daewoo parts bins and spoiled the otherwise clean bodywork of these cars.

Tesla 3 looks good if only looking from slightly above at 3/4 front

Then the Chrysler Crossfire Doggy-doodoo pose from the rear - looks worse in person.

Tesla design was relatively novel when the Model S and Model 3 were first introduced. They’ve become bland with the passage of time, though — and the regularity with which you see them on the road, particularly the 3.

Here is one that is not even out yet...I am still reserving judgment

I’ve seen this in person and let me tell you, it looks heavy. The Crosstour comparisons are getting a bit stale but they’re not wrong, in my book.

Current Silverado HD

Rear, looks nice and square like the previous gen, and no crazy body lines like the half ton. Taillights are odd, but tolerable.

Front, oh my god why is it suddenly 10 feet tall?!

As ever, the trucks are not OK.

I’d argue the C8. It looks good from the front....but hot damn that ass is ugly! Looks like it was designed by hot wheels in 1993.

Just about every new car has a ridiculous grille. It’s like every car designer looked at Lexus and said: “seems legit!”, meanwhile every person around them was actively vomiting.

Every person I’ve ever told that I can’t stand the way the C8 looks has been surprised, offended or assured me that once I saw one in person, I’d feel differently. I have multiple times, and that has not happened.

The BMW 3 series Gran Turismo. A nice car with a bad, misproportioned boot.

What is that man with the golf clubs pondering? Perhaps why he decided to purchase half of a pretty car.

Jeep Gladiator. From most angles it’s just a Jeep Wrangler, which is cool. From the rear, it has a great tailgate design. Then you see the side profile and that seemingly football field sized rear overhang and it’s goofy as heck.

I like it; there’s something old school about it. But it’s still too expensive for what it is.

Then you get this cross-eyed Mini headlight front:

I never noticed that before! Also yes, looks funky, don’t like. Fortunately they just made a perfect one.

Kaiser Darrin. Long, graceful side profile, cool pocket doors, and then, a sourpuss butterface.

Previous-gen Civic hatch. Not bad from the front, a little boy-racer but actually looks ok:

But then you notice that something’s...not quite...right about the rear end, so you move around to look, and...

It’s like all the vents and wings just...slid to the back and stayed there. So many angles and intersecting lines “to add visual interest” but are just a disjointed mess. It makes the rear end of a C8 look beautiful.

Dark days for the Civic, indeed. Glad they’re behind us.
