BREAKING NEWS: The McLaren 650S is fast. Like, really fast. Fast enough that it will hit 124 mph faster than your crappy first car probably hit 60 mph. Full performance specs on Macca's new Ferrari-fighter were released this morning and they do not disappoint.

First, power. As we knew before, the 3.8-liter twin turbo V8 puts out 650 PS (641 horsepower) and 500 pound-feet of torque. Zero to 60 mph comes at just three seconds flat. Zero to 124 mph happens at 8.4 seconds. And it hits a standing quarter mile in a mere 10.5 seconds.

Yeah, not bad.

These numbers put the 650S pretty much on par with the Ferrari 458 Speciale, although Car and Driver puts the McLaren as faster to 124 mph by nearly half a second.

At the same time McLaren calls it a "no-compromise" car, one "faster than rival 'stripped out' road racers, yet offers far superior comfort, refinement and equipment." And you know what? I think it looks good, too. There are worse things in the world than a hopped-up McLaren MP4-12C with a McLaren P1's nose.

Pricing was also released today, and in line with the leaked pricing guide we saw recently, the 650S will start at £195,250, or about $325,000 if you convert British pounds to dollars. No word yet on official U.S. pricing, but here an MP4-12C costs about $240,000.
