After numerous tips flooding our inbox about an electric racer that can beat the Bugatti Veyron we decided to get off our asses and post about it. Apparently, dot.commers are investing in lots of new businesses including boutique carmakers. Ian Wright, an entrepreneur from New Zealand, has crafted a race car that runs on a quarter ton electric battery, and that's it. It hits 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and we only know that number because the reporter says the Veyron i's "half a second faster" than the X1, without just saying 2.9 seconds. Could this be the future of supercars? Well, how fast would it go with a real cabin, some safety equipment etc. You know, all those things we'd need to actually drive it on a street? Oh and he's looking for investors. If you have $8 million you could shoot it over to Wright and his promise of a car that has a 100 mile range, meets safety standards and takes "just" 4.5 hours to recharge. Yes, that would be more charging than driving time.
