There are good interiors and there are bad interiors, but the best interior is plaid. Volvo in their wagon-wisdom is well aware of this and so, will now offer the upcoming 2019 V60 wagon with an option for plaid seats.

The 2019 V60 is similar to the larger V90 wagon, but it’s arguably more “wagony” and now Volvo is offering an old-school wagon interior trim called “Blond City Weave Textile Upholstery.”

Which is plaid, and it looks fantastic.

You can currently configure your 2019 V60 with that interior but only on the Momentum trim, step up to the Inscription and burn-your-butt leather is the only option. Though you can still get the “luxury seat package” on the upper trim, which comes with electronically adjustable side-bolsters and a massage feature, so that is tempting as well.

As of now, no pricing has been announced for the upcoming V60. There are only two trims shown on Volvo’s website—both with the 300 hp T6 motor. There is a 390 hp hybrid version coming and it’s likely that a T5 engine option and an R-Design trim are in the works as well.

Currently, the only car available in the US with plaid seats is the Volkswagen GTI, which is truly a shame. More plaid I say! It’s good to see Volvo helping to bring back the plaid fad.
