The 2008 Cadillac CTS Hits The Wild, Giving Us One More Embargo Break For The Detroit Auto Show

This year in Detroit it's apparently not a real reveal unless it's a reveal that's real early — a bit of embargo breakage appears to be the talk of the day. If you're one of the inside-the-8-mile class, you've probably engaged in one of those magazines versus interwebs debates — but seriously, that's such a bore. Especially with Edmunds dropping the rest of the skirt Bob Lutz has already twice lifted. Yup, that's the full frontal of the new-for-2008 Cadillac CTS. The new CT-Scratch fever's got a 3.6-liter V6, pushing output to 258 hp and 270 ft-lb of torque, controlled by a six-speed automatic tranny, allowing the power to go to where it belongs — all of the wheels. That's right, the new Cadillac CTS offers a first for the low-end Caddy — all-wheel drive. We're waiting for the chance to take this Caddy's V-series version with another two cylinders added to the v-config out for a stroll once it hits the streets late this calendar year. That's merely a sneak peek above, but check back as we'll have more later this morning — just keep checking that Detroit Auto Show mini-site or let your feed reader do the clicker via our RSS tag.
