Talk about adding insult to injury. A wreck in Washington State not only sent a man to the hospital, it coated him, his dog and the interior of his SUV in paint.

Washington's KOMO News reports that the man was driving with his dog and some cans of paint on SR-302 southwest of Belfair on Tuesday afternoon when he lost control and went off the road.

The man had minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital. But during the wreck the cans went flying, resulting in an explosion of paint all over him, the SUV and the poor pooch.

A Washington State Police trooper and a firefighter found a resident nearby who let them hose off Fido in the yard with some borrowed shampoo. The dog seemed okay, the story says, but it was probably more than a little perturbed.

My heart goes out to this driver. This situation is a real mess in more ways than one.
