That's the safety-razor grille, slyly alluding to the Cheshire smile of Americans whom designing Brit Peter Horbury's endured at Detroit-area cocktail parties. Set to debut at the Detroit show next month, the new fiver will get Ford's new corporate 3.5-liter V6, producing 265 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque. The new powerplant should help us forget the tedium of taking the current model (i.e., lecture hall with wheels) to highway speed. Go Dave, it'll be your birthday soon.
