Your favorite car company may have built rockets, robots, and even video game consoles.
10.) Volkswagen Ketchup & Sausage
Not only does Volkswagen make currywurst and ketchup, they sell a ton of it too. In 2011 they sold way more sausages than cars!
Jalopnik's very own Raphael Orlove has tried it and verified its deliciousness, though he might be a bit biased.

9.) International Harvester Refigerator
Back in the 1930s, most rural homes didn't have electricity. President Roosevelt created the Rural Electrification Administration to change that. International Harvester, a company who made farm equipment, decided to use their brand recognition to make appliances for farmers.
So in the 1950s you could have a tractor, a pickup, and a fridge all made by the same company.

8.) GM M3 Submachine Gun
During WWII, GM's Guide Lamp Division which made lights for GMs cars was tapped to build weapons. Most notably, they made M3 submachine guns as well as FP-45 "Liberator" pistols.

7.) Ford Trimotor
Honda (with the HondaJet) isn't the first automaker to market at a plane, since Ford did it all the way back in 1926. Realizing that public air transportation was going to be a big thing, Henry Ford and a handful of others invested in the Stout Metal Airplane Company, and the result is this, the Trimotor.
They made 199 of them from 1926-1933, and you can probably guess where the name came from.

6.) BMW Bobsled
Many automakers have made Olympic bobsleds but BMW is one of the most prominent, and they make these carbon fibre masterpieces for the US team.
Plus, it's got the best usage of M Colors since the DTM E30 M3s.

5.) Philco-Ford Telejogo
There's not much written about this but Philco, an appliance company owned by Ford, sold an early home video game console in Brazil back in the late 1970s. It played Pong, as you might expect.
Who would have thought there was a Ford badge on a video game console?

4.) Chrysler M1 Abrams
In the 1970s, while Chrysler was designing cars like the LeBaron, Chrysler Defense was designing the M1 Abrams. Now, Chrysler Defense was somewhat autonomous and was soon spun off of the company in '82. Still, it's fun to remember that Chrysler was responsible for the K-Car and the world's first turbine-powered tank at the same time.

3.) Honda ASIMO
I'm not really sure why the company that makes the Accord also is developing a forward-looking humanoid robot, but I'm sure as hell glad they do.

2.) Chrysler Air Raid Siren
Back in the 1950s Chrysler made an incredibly Badass air-raid siren powered by a Hemi V8 that could be heard up to 25 miles away. Why? You can thank the Cold War.
I really think Chrysler should update the concept for the 21st century with the V8 from the Hellcat.

1.) GM Lunar Rover
I feel somewhat weird giving the Lunar Rover the number 1 spot on this list, because on one hand, it's the most car-like thing here. On the other hand, it's the freaking Lunar Rover.
Boeing actually constructed the Rover, but General Motors handled much of the engineering.
