Yes, just because you can't get the off-road Z71 package on the Silverado 2500HD doesn't mean you don't want it really really badly, especially if you're a fan of the big-boy HD trucks. So, the folks at GM Accessories and Chevy have combined forces to provide y'all with "Big Red" here, a concept that merges the popular package with the quite likable 2008 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab and its 6.6-liter Duramax turbo-diesel engine. Now that's a lot of off-roadin' torque power they've wrapped up in a paint job meant to be reminiscent of Dale Earnhardt Jr's "Big Red" Silverado that debuted at last year's SEMA show. Except, you know, without the whole giant signature on the side.

Taking cues from Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s "Big Red" Silverado that debuted at SEMA in 2006, the '08 Silverado HD Crew Z71 Big Red demonstrates how that expressive concept's unique features would look with production-type components. It combines numerous GM Accessories inspired by Earnhardt's Big Red and features additional custom touches. It also supposes the popular Z71 off-road package on the Silverado 2500HD - a model not offered by the factory. It's powered by the 6.6L Duramax turbo-diesel V-8 and a six-speed Allison transmission.

Alright, lets take one of the biggest trucks in the market today, jack it up so that you have to strain to get into the thing, and just or good measure, let's stuff the bed with a spare so that it becomes useless as a truck, you know, to haul stuff around. Oh yea, don't forget the cheesy industrial grade plastic used for trim!
