Renault-Packed Colorado Warehouse May Turn Earth Into Hell Project Neutron Star
Some of you might have wondered where in hell Rocket Surgery Racing found the 1956 Renault 4CV that served as the basis of their Index of Effluency-winning LeMons car. In the conveniently-located Warehouse Of French Hell Project Doom, of course!
Why was I there? Sure, I wanted to scrutinize some scary French Hell Projects, but mostly I wanted to go check out this '66 Dodge A100 van; I've been shopping for such a van for quite some time, and I've finally found the right one for my fleet.
Two-tone paint, dash-mounted automatic shifter, and a rod-knocky 318. Fortunately, the deal comes with a good used engine as well. Once I get back from the Mutually Assured Destruction Of Omaha LeMons race and have a chance to clear some garage space, this van will be mine! Anybody got a Johnson Messenger telephone handset-equipped CB radio, and maybe some widened, dog-dish-ready steel wheels for sale?
Once I was done checking out the A100, it was time to admire some of the other vehicles in this fine Hell Project Vortex. The reason the proprietor is willing to sell me his Dodge van project is simple: he's obtained this Renault van project to haul around his French car parts. An Estafette might be much more hellish than the Dardge, but just look at it!
Dauphines!
4CVs!
Caravelles
Renaults of all description, all over the place!
How many of you would like a Renault 12 wagon with the hot-rod Alpine engine?
Speaking of engines, here are some Alpine powerplants awaiting transplants into 4CV drag-race and/or autocross cars.
Of course, no builder of hot-rodded Renaults can resist Renault-themed toys in his office: "The only car with toys that cost more than the cars themselves."
Not everything here came from France. Any of you LeMons teams looking to run a Triumph Herald?
Or perhaps you'd like to knock 'em out at Billetproof with this '41 Buick? If so, send me an email and I'll be sure to pass it on to the proprietor of the Warehouse Of Doom!
