Photoshop Reveals How All Modern Cars Look The Same

If you've ever thought that new cars all look the same, here's proof. Swap the grills between two different makes (like between a Kia and a BMW) and it's hard to tell which design looks more appropriate.

Our very own Nibby4WD and Tohru Rokuno did these shops. Better than anything else, they make you realize how much new cars look alike. Everyone knows the Kia K9 is shaped like a BMW, but once you swap the grills, there's really not much to tell them apart. High-hood pedestrian safety regulations, the gas crisis-driven need for aerodynamic efficiency, and general laziness conservatism of car designers gives a very generic look.

It gets worse with BMW and Subaru now that the 3er looks just like an Impreza.

Even Mercedes and Honda have gotten so generic that when you swap the grills either way, the design looks brand-appropriate. Check out this Honda E-Class.

This Accord isn't so different from a C-Class, huh?

Switch the grills on the SL and you could be looking at a new S2000 if Honda keeps up its styling malaise.

We'll also treat you to this Toyota X1, which could just as well be the next RAV4.
