Remember the Aggro-crag? Yeah, you do. If you didn’t, that’s okay. Pieces of Loïc Duval’s broken Audi definitely chunked off in a way that resembles the star of Nickelodeon’s “Guts.”
The number 8 Audi caught up with traffic and just couldn’t quite pull off an ambitious pass around a Ferrari.
Fortunately, the damage was repairable, but this was an annoying delay for the Duval/Di Grassi/Jarvis crew. He was able to haul it back into the pits despite the lack of bodywork, and the team repaired it without even going a lap down.
Bizarrely, Benoît Tréluyer in the number 7 Audi went on an off-road detour in the right-hander before Indianapolis right before the number 8 wrecked. Neither car fell significantly behind as a result of their borkage.
This is further proof that I need to convince the Audi crew to help me run a 944 in the 24 Hours of LeMons. Audi’s crew is magic.
