Grace Autosport hopes to break new ground for the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 next year: they’re the first all-female team. Not only is Katherine Legge driving the car itself, but the entire team behind her will be female as well. No one team in professional motorsport has ever done anything like this before.

Ex-SRT motorsports director Beth Paretta is heading up Grace Autosport. She believes that this isn’t just about getting a female face on the Indy 500’s Borg-Warner Trophy, but she envisions the effort as setting an example for other women who are interested in STEM-related fields.

Racer had the chance to sit down with both Paretta and Legge in Indianapolis to talk about the new, unique team, and you can find both of those interviews over there.
