John Oliver's Doomsday Video Is A Hell Of A Lot Nicer Than CNN's

Way back in the 1980s, Ted Turner had CNN make a video that was only to be played at the end of the world. It was a bit melancholy, to put it lightly. A bit boring, and not exactly the sendoff we might want. So leave it to John Oliver, Last Week Tonight, and Martin Sheen to give us a much, much better one.

If you're on your way out, you don't want some sad little marching band playing you off like you just got booed at the Apollo. Hell no. You want some gravitas, some oomph, some pizzazz. You want a reminder of your biggest accomplishments, and a small glossing-over of your greatest failures.

And more than that, a fully sikkkk basketball shot to close you out.

And also, you might want a little credit for the deep sourcing required to, you know, actually GET THE VIDEO AND BRING IT TO THE WORLD, JOHN OLIVER.

But you know what? No, it's fine. It's fine.

When it comes to the End of Days, no one's got time to get catty anymore. Not with President Bartlett.

Maybe.
