You know you've built a gorgeous product when the eye candy designed to stand next to your car stands off to the side to admire it. Such is the Jaguar C-X16, seen here in its new white-as-uncut-cut-cocaine paint job.

Slapping a fresh coat of paint on a concept car is not usually enough to be worthy of our attention, but the C-X16 is no usual concept car. It's a gorgeous manifestation of everything we want a new Jaguar to be.

A modern take on the phallic proportions of the original E-Type, the car hasn't lost much in translation. It looks like a modern Jaguar yet with slight nods to the past, like the side-mounted hatch glass, exhaust pipe layout, and small circles sticking out of the slit-like taillights.

The drivetrain, however, has no resemblance to the engine shoved into the original E-type. Power comes from a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 with an eight-speed transmission putting out 375 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque. This is mated to an electric hybrid motor system that features a KERS-inspired push-to-pass button that will produce an additional 94 hp and 173 lb-ft of torque.

All of this produces a theoretical 0-to-62 mph time of 4.4 seconds and 186 mph top speed while creating lower emissions than the current V8-powered line of sports cars.

A gorgeous supercharged hybrid Jaguar two-seater might seem like something out of a crazy dream, but if you aren't prone to bouts of fantasy you're probably better of buying something practical like a Honda.
