2014 Mazda3 Sedan: This Is It

Do you love the design of the 2014 Mazda3, but don't want to look like some sort of godless European by driving a hatchback? Mazda's got the car for you! Meet the 2014 Mazda3 sedan.

I'm kidding with that European crack, of course. But we all know that Americans tend to prefer sedans to hatches, and although five-doors are catching on more and more, it's critical for Mazda to deploy a trunk-having version of their bestselling car.

And like its hatchback brother, it's quite attractive. I would even go so far as to say that the sedan version no longer looks like an afterthought like older versions of the 3. The new one definitely draws from the 2014 Mazda6, but with more steeply raked passenger windows.

Images of the car leaked early tonight on Top Gear Russia (I had no idea that was a thing, but it must be just totally insane.) Besides the trunk, it's the same car as the hatch that was revealed last week.

Which Mazda3 would you take — the hatchback or this sedan?

Also, is anyone else really starting to dig Mazda's new design language? I am. I'm pumped to see how they apply this to the next Miata. That could be a great-looking car.
