This Is How You Make A Craigslist Ad

We’ve seen all kinds of ways people have tried to set their Craigslist ad apart from the hundreds of thousands of used car listings. While some have become Internet famous, they haven’t always resulted in a successful sale. This ad for a 1988 205 GTI might not be funny, but it is an excellent model to follow.

The seller gives a solid explanation on why he is selling the car, a detailed ownership history complete with all the background, repairs, and necessary maintenance that was performed, and then includes numerous high quality photos. Perhaps the most important part is he explains exactly what the flaws are. If you are going to drop almost $13,000 on French car from the 80s, you want as few surprises as possible.

Now your average vehicle probably doesn’t need the complete Bring a Trailer treatment in regards to the description, but the more the buyer knows about the car, both good and bad, the more likely they are to take the next step and contact you – especially if it’s for a five-figure Peugeot.
