Volvo’s back in the FIA World Touring Car Championship, and they’re back with a bang. Is this new S60 Polestar TC1 race car the most badass-looking Volvo ever?
It is since the brick-like Volvo 240 Turbo race cars that dominated touring car racing in the 1980s, at least. This new endeavor comes from Polestar Cyan Racing, the motorsports partner of Polestar, that crazy go-fast company Volvo recently took in-house.
The new S60 TC1 packs 400 horsepower using technology from Volvo’s new Drive-E family of engines. And while it will be decked out in racing liveries on track, I prefer it in this naked black look. It’s kind of evil.
Polestar Cyan says the S60 TC1 will be campaigned for several years in WTCC. Good, I’m looking forward to seeing more of this bad boy.
