The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has some of the most comfortable and pampering seats on the market today. You can drive around while being simultaneously cooled, heated, massaged and hugged by the active bolsters. But what’s under all that buttery and perforated leather?
Well, the guys at popular YouTube channel What’s Inside went and found out. And I won’t bullshit you, this video was hard to watch. I personally love those seats and watching the host take a blade to the leather made me want to die. But I couldn’t look away, I was too grossly fascinated. I kept telling myself that it was all in the name of science.
As it turns out, that “hot stone massage” function doesn’t actually involve any hot stones. I know, I’m just as surprised as you that Mercedes didn’t fill a seat with rocks. It’s actually all just fans and little airbags.
Anyway, if you’re one of those people who likes to cut things open to see what’s inside but you couldn’t get your hands on an S-Class seat, I hope this video will satisfy some of that curiosity. And that you won’t go around to perfectly good cars, trying to cut the seats open.
Update 3:39 p.m. EST: Some of you have pointed out that this is the same dude who got rid of his Tesla Model S because its tires were bald, which led him to believe it be an unsafe vehicle. Huh.
