Do you want to know why the Audi Nanuk Concept looks like the Giugaro Parcour from this year's Geneva Motor Show in March?
Here's the official answer. Not that we didn't know that, just to make sure:
Because they are the design house that helped design it that is wholly owned by Audi.
So, it seems like Audi was recycling with Giugiaro a bit, but who cares when it looks better than the original? I mean, look at it! It's an angry off-road diesel R8 that only needs some armor to take over the world!
What's even better is that the V10 TDI inside is a 5.0-liter unit unleashing 544 horsepower and 737 lb-ft from as low as 1,500 rpm. It's linked to a beefed-up S tronic seven-speed automatic. And in case you were about to forget how many cylinders you got at the back, these red ignition numbers are there to help:
The Nanuk Quattro also has adaptive air suspension and a ground clearance can be adjusted by a three-way switch. Built on the aluminum space frame and covered with a carbon fiber body, the concept stays under two tons at 4,188 lb.
Thanks to the all-wheel drive and all that power, it will go to sixty in 3.8 and top out at 189.52 mph, according to Germans doing some mathematics. Audi also claims 30.16 mpg with this mid-engined vehicle of doom, which can be calmed down by carbon ceramic brakes.
