Cosworth is a legendary name in performance cars, and now Hyundai has contracted them to tune up their Genesis Coupe. With 389 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque, the numbers gains aren't outlandish, but the package looks just right.
This Cosworth is debuting in the heart of America's more-more-more tuning scene, SEMA, so its 3.8-liter V6 gains of 41 horsepower and 30 lb-ft of torque will get largely ignored at the show. There's also nothing terribly eye-catching about the exterior mods. From the outside you just see some pretty satin blue paint, a modest drop, and some pretty wheels.
But if the Cosworth name is anything to go by, this will be one awesome concept car. Anybody can do big power, but Cosworth can do suspension, tires, interior and brakes. It's comprehensive tuning, which is what we expect on this Hyundai. More details coming soon.
It's technically called the Cosworth Genesis Racing Series and we're looking forward to seeing it in the real world come SEMA at the end of the month.
