The story of Brawn GP is an incredible one. Not only was it a new and independent Formula One race team in 2009, but in its one and only season, it took the Constructor's Championship. It started with nary a sponsor, but by the end of the year, the entire team was scooped up by Mercedes-Benz.
In truth, the Brawn team was a bit of a carryover from the old Honda team, but even still, that does not diminish its accomplishments. F1 is a scary place to be no matter what team you're on, but with no sponsors, and thus no money behind the car, it could have gone belly-up at any moment. The flip side of that coin is that the Brawn BGP 001 is one of the prettiest cars of its time, and for most of the season it ran with this stark-white-and-highlighter-yellow livery.
This image is a special one as well, coming from Cale Funderburk, who has made some wonderful images with automotive themes and stark minimalism, including great shots of the Audi Quattro S1 and the Honda RA273. Who knows, maybe we'll feature those soon, too. Either way, I may soon be in the market for a new iPhone case.
