Honda S2000, Toyota Blizzard, Volvo 1800ES Wagon: The Dopest Cars I Found For Sale Online
A couple of Japanese imports, a rare American truck, a gorgeous Volvo and more!
Another week means another entry into our series featuring the sweet cars I found for sale online.
To compile this list, I search as much of Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist as I can for interesting vehicles that don't cost a fortune. They may be hilariously unreliable, remarkably unusual, questionably tuned, or just something that stops me in my tracks. Prices for some cars are trending higher, but I think some good deals are still out there.
1989 Dodge Dakota Sport Convertible - $4,900
Here's a rare little truck, a Dakota Pickup. Dodge tasked American Sunroof Corporation with building a convertible version of their Dakota pickup for the 1989 model year, an experiment that ended after the 1991 model year. Power comes from a 3.9-liter V6 that makes 125 HP, transmitted through a manual transmission. About 3,700 of these were made, making them a rare truck.
It's $4,500 on Facebook Marketplace in Thatcher, Arizona.
1987 Toyota Blizzard - $17,000
The Toyota Blizzard is a tiny JDM 4x4 that's based on the Daihatsu Rugger. It's compact, but has plenty of off-roading punch with part-time four-wheel-drive, two-speed transfer case and beefy solid axles. The SUV is powered by a 2.4-lier turbodiesel four making a respectable 94 HP.
I'm not sure I've ever seen a more 1980s Japanese vehicle than this one. Check out its sweet graphics and gauge cluster proudly hyping its turbocharger.
It looks to be in good condition inside and out and it's $17,000 on Facebook Marketplace in Seattle, Washington.
2008 Volkswagen R32 - $8,500
The Golf R32 was an all-wheel-drive version of the Golf powered by a 3.2-liter V6 producing 252 horsepower. This one has a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
This particular example appears to be clean with light modifications. I think that orange really makes it pop. It's $8,500 on Facebook Marketplace in Kendallville, Indiana, with 161,000 miles.
1973 Norton Commando - $7,700
Norton is a British brand of motorcycles that aren't a common sight here in America anymore. The bike features classic style and an 850cc parallel twin making 58 HP. Commandos were used for everything from racing to police service.
This example is notable for having 5,250 original miles. It's said to have its original tank and side covers, though they have been repainted. The seat is also new old stock. It's $7,700 on Facebook Marketplace in Rochester, Minnesota.
1993 Subaru Vivio - $7,499
This adorable kei car has a name that sounds pretty exotic, but it's just a roman numeral reference to its 660cc engine displacement. The weird little thing has a tiny four cylinder up front making 41 horses. It comes in at a featherweight 1,433 pounds and amazingly, it actually seats four.
This one comes with a five-speed manual transmission and looks to be in pretty good condition. It's $7,499 on Facebook Marketplace in Glastonbury, Connecticut.
1972 Volvo 1800ES - $15,000
The Volvo P1800 is not just known for its curvy body, but its amazing longevity. The coupe is slick enough, but Volvo also turned it into a short wagon for its final years of production. The 1800ES has that classic shooting brake look and check this out, a fantastic glass tailgate.

This one is said to have been owned by a mechanic for years and features custom wheels, a new dashboard and custom paint. It's $15,000 on Craigslist in the San Francisco Mission District, California, with 139,000 miles.
2001 Honda S2000 - $12,500
This week's enthusiast car is a popular sporty roadster that is revered by enthusiasts for its 9,000 RPM redline. It's a car that we've said is still worth worshiping, with its screaming engine, rear-wheel-drive and manual transmission. I'm not surprised that it can be hard to find them for cheap.
This AP1 S2000 is said to have a clean title, 143,010 miles and a short list of mods. The top doesn't look perfect, but the car appears to be in decent condition. It's $12,500 on Facebook Marketplace in Orlando, Florida.
1975 Blue Bird Wanderlodge - $12,500
If you think that this RV looks like an old school bus you actually wouldn't be too far off. Blue Bird actually built super-luxury buses based on their school buses. Each Wanderlodge was different and made to the buyer's specifications. These were loved by many, including Jimmy Carter and Johnny Cash.
This one is said to run and drive well and only needs minor repairs. It's $12,500 on Facebook Marketplace in Piketon, Ohio.
2016 Zero DS - $8,500
The DS is Zero's dual sport electric motorcycle. Its electric motor pumps out 54 ponies and it has a 13 kWh battery pack onboard. The seller says that it's good for 160 miles in the city and less on the highway. That makes it perfect for commuting or a short joy ride.
It's $8,500 on Facebook Marketplace in Sacramento, California.
That's it for this week! Have you purchased a car from one of these posts? If so, I want to know.
If you know of a weird car for sale on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist, drop it down in the comments or send it along in an email! If the car's still for sale, we may feature it in a future post.
