The Porsche Cayman is a small mid-engine sports car on sale today. Or is it?

As one comment on that Instagram post notes, sat beside a four-door compact sedan of the 1980s, a Mercedes 190E, the two-door compact sports car Cayman looks "fooking massive!!!"

If you're wondering what the actual dimensions of these two cars are, they're serious close.

  • The Mercedes is 174 inches long, the Porsche is 172.

  • The Mercedes is 54 inches tall, the Porsche is 51.

  • The Mercedes is 66 inches wide, the Porsche is 70.

  • The Mercedes has a 104-inch wheelbase, the Porsche's measures 97.

    What a difference safety regulations make.
