So, it comes down to this: the 2015 Corvette Z06, America's hottest new overpowered track darling, in a drag race against the Dodge Viper TA, the competition-focused version of Dodge's V10 monster car. They're close in power and purpose, but only one can come out on top.

Before we chat about the results, let's look at the contenders. The Viper TA's 8.4-liter V10 puts out 640 horsepower, while the much smaller supercharged 6.2-liter V8 in the Z06 trumps the Dodge at 650 horsepower. Believe it or not, the Viper's actually the lighter car by about 100 pounds, though.
Maybe this drag run came down to which car had the better driver and got the better launch. The Viper pulled ahead first only to have the Z06 catch up.
In the end, the snake took the win (hence the green light) even when it posted a run of 12.17 seconds at 122.97 mph to the 'Vette's 11.75 seconds at 124.35 mph.
Not as close as I expected them to be, honestly. So what do we think happened here?
