Welcome to the Jalopnik Weekend Motorsports Roundup, where we let you know what’s going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and where you can talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?

Two championships will be in the books after this week—Red Bull Global Rallycross wrapped up its season on Wednesday in Las Vegas, and the MotoGP World Championship will do the same this weekend in Spain. Just like the GRC championship came down to two teammates—Tanner Foust and Scott Speed—MotoGP will feature the same on Sunday, with Movistar Yamaha riders Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo.

After a clash with Marc Marquez in Malaysia, Rossi will start at the back of the grid for the finale. Both races will air on Sunday, and we won’t spoil the GRC ending in this particular post if you want to watch the tape-delayed showing with all the novelty of live action.

All three of NASCAR’s top series will be at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend, notably without Matt Kenseth on track. After NASCAR ruled a late-race move that put Joey Logano into the wall as intentional, Kenseth received a two-race penalty and six-month probation. Kenseth lost his appeals to NASCAR, leaving Erik Jones to drive the No. 20 car in his place. The Camping World Truck Series ran on Friday night, and the Xfinity Series returns after a couple of weeks off for the O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge. Jones signed on to run all three races, and he won last night’s truck race.

Fun anecdote: One of the first NASCAR races I ever attended—this was many years ago, before I knew anything about the sport—was an O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge. There was no mileage, lap count or anything listed in the race name, so I had no clue what to expect. What was this “challenge”? Were we going to race a couple hundred miles? Were we going to send cars into some ring for an all-out battle of sheet metal? (Looking at you, Kenseth.) Thankfully, I found out soon enough that it was just a normal race.

Though not airing live, there’s plenty of action in dirt racing, motocross and rally this weekend as well. Among those showing include the FIA World Rally Championship’s Italy stop from earlier this year, the Pro Motocross Championship and the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series.

If you know of any other races or streams going on this weekend, feel free to let us know in the comments.
