The DS3 Cabrio Racing Concept Is A Topless French Hot Hatch

Headed for the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, Citroën's newest concept is the DS3 Racing's open top cousin. That's what they would call chic, and I agree.

There's 202 horsepower from the turbocharged 1.6 unit, firm suspension and larger brakes. Pretty much that's the recipe for a modern hot hatch, and the DS3 is no different. But the styling sets it apart from the competition, and not just because of the "bespoke Moondark matt textured grey paintwork with special gloss black 19” alloy wheels and Black Chrome inserts on the handles, boot trim and door mirrors."

To contrast the black canvas roof and all that carbon fiber, the brake callipers, wheel hubs, doors with wide side strips and parts of the lettering and badge are coloured in "Carmin red."

Whatever. All I care about is that this version only weights 55 lbs more than the coupe, and their's a child seat wrapped in watch strap leather. I'm sold.

What would you in America say to this sort of French madness?
