While warming up yesterday for the Chinese Grand Prix, a massive suspension failure sent both front wheels of Sebastien Buemi's F1 car rocketing off in opposite directions, leaving Buemi to stare at a wall he now can't avoid. Video below.
Buemi was uninjured when his Toro Rosso F1 car failed during yesterday's practice for this weekend's Chinese Grand Prix, though he wasn't pleased with the performance of his car. "I am extremely disappointed that, once again, through no fault of my own, I have been unable to run for almost all of the three hours available," he told the press.
After a review, the team discovered a suspension arm defect led to the entire right front upright collapse, which snapped the wheel tethers and created the dramatic effect. His team-mate Jaimie Alguersuari avoided a similar problem.
All we know is it's the most bizarre F1 incident in our memory. Well, most bizarre F1 track incident. If we don't include that delimiter you'd have to count that whole nazi sex orgy thing.
