First Lamborghini Aventador crash: What took so long?

From now on, I'm starting a countdown clock from the launch of a new supercar to its first crash. I'm actually surprised it took this long to see how well the Lamborghini Aventador would survive an impact with a few poles.

According to Italy's Motori, the Aventador was trying to pass a row of vehicles Tuesday when a truck started turning left. The Aventador smacked the truck, running off road into a telephone pole, a steel pole and fencing before stopping in a ditch. Amazingly for an Italian supercar, nothing caught fire.

The damage included ripping the wheels from the front end, but the carbon-fiber monocoque wasn't damaged and no one was hurt. Now that we're over this milestone, we'll reset the clock to await the first Aventador to either be chromed or wrapped in whale penis vinyl.
