Cadillac has been developing what we had hoped would be an amazing pizzazz-filled halo car to regain some of its past glory. Well, apparently the designers couldn't get it right. Cadillac just cancelled the project due to lack of pizzazz.
The car Cadillac was developing was supposed to have elements of the outrageous 2011 Ciel Concept and would cost way more than $100,000 as it would be a low production halo flagship. Sources told Automotive News that the car didn't have enough "brand-building pizzazz" to justify the investment.
We already have enough cars without pizzazz, chaching, kapowie, or zork on the road. The last thing we need is a big Cadillac that lacks even the fundamental elements of pizzazz.
The good news is that this isn't the demise of a large sedan to compete with the Mercedes S-Class, BMW 7-Series, or Audi A8. Sounds like that car is coming along nicely, which means that it has incorporated just the perfect amount of pizzazz and a touch of blammo.
