Elon Musk Tweeted Out His Phone Number

Elon Musk, the world’s favorite space boy who will eventually colonize Mars and no longer need one of humankind’s “phones,” tweeted his number earlier. Oops.

Seems like a big slip, right? But after some annoying texts and calls by Jalopnik, it appears he might have been pranking us all.

Bloomberg’s Anne Moffat tweeted a screenshot of a now-deleted tweet Tuesday, in which Musk told Oculus VR chief technology officer John Carmack to call a number. The number wasn’t blocked elsewhere, so Jalopnik got ahold of it and confirmed via public records that it is, in fact, a number associated with Musk:

Jalopnik’s own Ryan Felton has texted Musk asking why he’d tweet out his phone number, for updates on the Tesla Model 3 and where the Tesla semi truck will be built.

He has not responded yet. We will, of course, update the post when he inevitably does.

But after Ryan called the number, the voicemail message appears to be some giant voicemail recording of a video game. Good prank, Elon.
