Comedian/filmmaker Adam Carolla will join car enthusiast/pitcher C.J. Wilson, filmmaker Jeff Zwart, and television personality Spike Feresten as judges for the third annual Jalopnik Film Festival’s short film contest. The submission deadline is August 20th so submit soon.
As part of our mission to support filmmakers creating works about cars and car culture, we’ll be hosting a short film contest as part of our larger film festival out in Los Angeles this September. We’re accepting films 10 minutes or under in length.
Bringing a West Coast feel to our festival judging panel is Adam Carolla, who recently put together the acclaimed documentary Winning: The Racing Life of Paul Newman about Paul Newman’s love of cars. L.A. Angels pitcher, racing team owner, and screenwriting major C.J. Wilson will also bring his excellent car taste to our judiciary.
Rounding out the panel are two returning judges. First, there’s famed Los Angeles car owner and Car Matchmaker car host Spike Feresten. He drove in a Youabian Puma, what other qualification do you need? There’s also filmmaker Jeff Zwart, who continues to make Oprah proud by living his best life now.
