Ford's Reflex Concept Coming to Detroit

Looking similar to the Iosis concept Ford unveiled in Frankfurt earlier this year, Ford's new Reflex concept will make its debut in Detroit next week. As AutoWeek reports, the Reflex is powered by a diesel-electric hybrid-drive system — incorporating a lithium-ion battery pack — which Ford says can produce 60 mpg as installed. A novel all-wheel-drive system combines the front-drive hybrid system with an electric motor driving the rear axle. Designers employed scrapped athletic shoes as an insulative material — called Nike Grind — that reduces noise and vibration in the Reflex s interior and improve its performance in the 50-yard dash.
