There are two types of buyers who will drop serious cash on a muscle car. The first is the sick burnout crowd. For them, the 707 hp Challenger Hellcat fits the bill. Then there is the buyer who wants to lay the smack down on more expensive sports cars at the local track. This is why the Shelby GT350 and GT350R exist.
With a starting price of about $48,000 the Shelby GT350 comes with a naturally aspirated (suck it turbos!), 526 hp, 5.2 liter V8 with a flat-plane crank. An engine configuration usually reserved for exotic sports cars that cost over three times as much as your humble Mustang. Or you can pony up the extra cash for the GT350R that will add magnetic suspension, carbon fiber wheels, and some other track-day goodies.
I’ll take mine in black, with the R, a few options and a price tag still under $63,000. So what would yours look like?
