I think a manual has to be realllyyy bad and an auto has to be excellent for me to ever consider giving up the stick. And while I think the JL’s eight-speed is great and the Aisin six-speed leaves a lot to be desired, I don’t think the latter quite falls below the threshold.

Im a manual till i die kinda guy, and even i have to admit the JL/JT clutch is garbage. it needs a resistance spring or something because i swear you can kick it to the floor without trying.  Read more

you NEED to check out donut derelicts in huntington beach. I believe this is the OG and predates even C&C. been going on as long as i can remember. It’s a hard pill to swallow, but ~22k USD for a 91k mile is in the lower range of price:miles for a B7 RS4 compared to offerings in the US. Read more

I also like to go see San Clemente C&C once in awhile. Well organized and cars that are days old to over 100 years old in the mix. But I remember when this was held in Aliso Viejo, there were bunch of idiots who were burning out and speeding like crazy (seen multiple Lambos doing over an 100 mph on a narrow, hilly Read more

Yea, exactly what I was thinking, but mine had a side of, “just because you paid $10k to have it imported doesn’t make it worth $6k with a bum engine.” As someone else posted the old Samurai was almost the same vehicle, so RHD just makes this less desirable IMO, same with RHD Supras, Miatas, RX-7s and all the other Read more

You seem to know these cars.  Any idea what engine is in this Sonata N?  I see a lot of stuff about it in this article (most powerful ever, 290hp) but is it the 2.0T boosted even more?  Is it a V6?  I ran a search on the article and comments and it isn’t anywhere to be found. Maybe I’m just an idiot for not knowing. Read more

Tesla owner here, this is not true. Tesla’s batteries, even at 100%, are not fully “effective”. I have a P90D and something like 82kwh of it are actually usable. I don’t know where the limitation comes from and if improvements have been made in the 100 kwh battery pack, but yea, this isn’t audi holding anyone’s hand, Read more

These luxury EV’s, including Tesla, are nothing but accessories for the well off. They are most likely either the 2nd or 3rd car in a household that probably includes something like a Range Rover SVR, some big ass luxobarge or a sports car. Read more
