Twice now I have moved while driving a U-Haul truck and towing a sedan...average gas mileage on a trip from Florida to Michigan was in the 7 mpg range. It was terrible. Read more

Now, before I go any further, I should admit that some of our gas mileage issues may have related to my driving style. Since our stuff was so tightly packed in back, and thus there wasn't room for anything to roll around, I figured there was little chance something would break. So I did what any red-blooded American Read more

I had no idea any of this was going on, then I ended up at the aquarium on saturday. Thought about going to Lemons but by the time we were done it was too late. Read more

I always knew it was expensive to really enjoy car week there discouraging me from going, but it looks like next year I'll go for the heck of it and go car spotting. :) Read more

This. Lots. As an insurance adjuster, I see modified cars totaled all the time, and the owners always freak out when they see how little their mods are actually worth. Thankfully, these days some other poor bastard handles the total losses. I just write them til they die. Read more

Doug, autumn (sorry, Fall) appears to have arrived early here in London, and it's chilly and dark outside... but your blog has brought a momentary glow of light and warmth into that cold and darkness. You are a true hero. Read more

I seriously hope that you were at 795 words, found it unacceptable, then added "Most importantly, the check cleared" to meet your 800 word quota. Read more

I often make much more than this, by simply driving my car to a destination (Mexico), letting some people fill my trunk with duffel bags, and driving it right back ( to America)! I don't even have to let it sit there! Read more
