Happy Monday, and welcome back to a fresh entry in my series featuring the sweet cars I found for sale online on websites like Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist. This week, you’re getting a double-dose of Dopest Cars. Motorcyclists get two picks this time!

While I own a fleet of vehicles that suggest a questionable taste, I actually love everything with an engine plus some seats and wheels bolted to it. I spend way too much time looking at cars, trucks and motorcycles that I will never buy, so this series is dedicated to the coolest vehicles I’ve come across.

These vehicles may be hilariously unreliable, remarkably unusual, questionably tuned or just something that stops me in my tracks. I also try to find good deals where they exist!

The personal luxury car offered comfort and sophistication in a package dripping with style. You got power and more luxury than a sports car of the era. Ford’s Thunderbird was an upscale entry into the style and is sometimes credited with popularizing the segment in the 1950s.

This third-generation Thunderbird has perhaps the sleekest styling of all of the generations. The overall shape of these Thunderbirds has earned them the nickname Bullet Bird. And those taillights make the ‘Bird look like it’s breaking the speed of sound while sitting still.

This Thunderbird looks to be in good shape and comes with a bunch of fresh parts. It’s $16,000 on Facebook marketplace in Athens, Ohio.

This yellow Italian cruiser is an opportunity to own a new motorcycle for less than what it cost new.

Moto Guzzi is one of the oldest motorcycle manufacturers in continuous operation. It opened its doors in 1921 and, as Cycle World notes, has gone on to win more than 3,000 races and even has some championships under its belt. Yet, you may not see many of them rolling around.

The V9 Roamer features Moto Guzzi’s signature transverse air-cooled V-twin making 55 HP. And the bike is nearly all metal save for parts like switchgear, and reflectors. This isn’t fast, but you’ll get to where you’re going in style.

These ran for about $10,000 new, but this one has just 1,401 miles for $7,500 on Facebook Marketplace in Spring Lake, North Carolina.

In 1968, the American Motors Corporation decided to step up and try to take a bite out of the Chevrolet Corvette. To do this, AMC took a Javelin, shortened the wheelbase and gave it some firepower. What resulted was something about the size of a Corvette but for way less money.

Power comes from a 343ci (5.6-liter) four-barrel AMC V8 making 280 HP. That delivers power to the rear wheels through an automatic. This particular example has some nice luxuries like air-conditioning and power steering.

It’s $34,900 at Mershon’s World of Cars in Springfield, Ohio.

The Toyota Blizzard is a tiny JDM 4x4 that’s based on the Daihatsu Rugger. It’s compact with an off-roading punch thanks to its part-time four-wheel-drive, two-speed transfer case, winch and beefy solid axles. The SUV is powered by a 2.4-liter turbodiesel four making a respectable 94 HP.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a more 1980s Japanese vehicle than this one. Check out its graphics! It’s $15,900 on Facebook Marketplace in Everett, Washington with 76,000 miles. Listing courtesy of Obscure Cars for Sale.

Here’s a ride for lovers of cars from the 1980s that are a little different. Turbos were all the rage back then, and even Chrysler didn’t want to miss out. In 1985 you could find yourself behind the wheel of a Chrysler Laser XE. It’s a sporty front-wheel-drive coupe riding on the G platform derived from Chrysler’s famous K platform.

Power comes from a 2.2-liter turbo four making 146 HP coupled to a manual transmission. And of course, like any proper ‘80s car there’s a computer voice that talks to you when something goes wrong.

It’s $8,000 on Facebook Marketplace in Idaho Springs, Colorado with 153,000 miles.

I love a good kei van, especially when it comes in a rad color. This Honda Acty Street G is the van version of the Acty truck. Located in the middle is a 656cc E07A triple rated at 38 HP. That reaches the ground through a manual transmission. I mean, what’s not to love about that? Well, Maine, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania and New York don’t love them.

This Acty van has a low 33,000 miles on its odometer and is very clean, however, a carburetor clean will definitely be in its future. It’s $7,000 on Facebook Marketplace in Lafayette, Indiana.

I think our Rob Emslie described it best when it comes to the Viper:

On paper, the Viper may not seem like all that much car for whatever money is being asked for it. There’s only two seats, no roll-up windows, no airbags or ABS, and the thing gets like 8 miles to the gallon should you be unfortunate enough to get stuck in traffic. On the flip side, these are also a hoot and a half to drive and will kill you should your talent not keep up with its capabilities.

When you buy a Viper, you’re really just dropping cash on a snake that wants to end your life should you cross it. And it’ll try to do it with help from an 8-liter V10 pumping out 400 HP and 465 lb-ft torque. That power is delivered to the rear wheels through a five-speed Tremec T56.

We have a number of Viper fans here and it’s easy to see why they love them so much. Cars as ridiculous as this aren’t often put into production.

It’s $42,995 on CarGurus in Nashville, Georgia with 55,511 miles.

If you love motorcycles but changing gears isn’t a thing for you, Honda has a quirky option for you with the CTX.

As Rider Magazine notes, the concept behind the CTX is a motorcycle for everyone. It should be easy for a beginner to learn with or for a veteran rider to get back into the saddle. The seat sits at a low 28.3 inches, making it accessible for a variety of riders. The seating position is also more relaxed.

The parallel twin puts down about 43 WHP to the rear tire, moving the 493-lb motorcycle. It’s definitely not going to be for everyone, but it’s something different. This one is $5,600 on Facebook Marketplace in Sykesville, Maryland with 6,500 miles.

Toyota MR2 - $11,999

Photo: Facebook Marketplace (Other)

Here’s Toyota’s take on the affordable convertible sports car formula. The MR2 keeps its engine behind the driver and has a 43/57 percent front/rear weight distribution for that almost perfect driving feel. That engine is a 1.8-liter four making a modest 138 hp to the rear wheels.

This particular MR2 is notable for being completely stock while coming finished in a nice green with a saddle brown interior. It’s $11,999 on Facebook Marketplace in Fresh Meadows, New York with 79,000 miles.

If you know of a weird car for sale on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist, drop it down in the comments or send it along in an email! If the car’s still for sale, I may feature it in a future post.
