A Wedding Planner With A Racing Schedule Would've Been Helpful

Ryan Hunter-Reay had a pretty good excuse to miss his friend's wedding. Maybe he really wanted to go, but this sounds like a great way to get out of events you might not have a good reason for missing. How can I reuse this?

In any case, it just sounds inconsiderate to schedule a wedding the same time as the Indy 500. Think about everyone else who isn't driving, but at least wants to watch.

RS Hole, a really nice guy:

Obviously not good childhood friends if they planned the wedding for the day of the Indy 500

alsoSprachAlSO:

Yeah for real. I've got a cousin having a wedding the same weekend as LeMans this year, and I was like, "sorry, I can't afford the flight to Minnesota." Which is somewhat true, but I still feel like a bit of a jerk.

corey3rd:

We had to change our wedding since the original date was the opening of bow hunting season.

Craig Sager's Jacket:

My dad still hasn't forgiven my brother for getting married on race day. And he wasn't even a driver.

This is why people should just get married on Wednesdays between 2 and 6 or something like that.
