After repeatedly watching this awesome video footage captured on a wet day at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Italy, we are having a nearly impossible time trying to determine exactly what is the best part of the Audi R8 LMS Ultra.
This footage of the race spec R8 was shot this past week while Audi was out testing the cars in preparation for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The sound is spectacular, the look is menacingly beautiful and watching the R8 get squirrely on the wet track makes us giggle in a way no grown man should. We imagine this isn't exactly what Audi had in mind when they updated the GT3 racer for 2012, but it is certainly a welcome result.
The only thing we don't particularly like about the R8 LMS Ultra is the fact we aren't among the lucky few who get to drive one. Considering they have a $445,233 price tag attached to them we aren't expecting that will change anytime soon either. With that in mind we're comfortably resigned to drooling over this race spec R8 from a far while counting the days until Le Mans.
