Working late night sucks; working late night outdoors in the cold is worse. Sometimes you just have to say screw this and take a break from clearing an icy parking lot and live out your Gymkhana fantasies with your tractor.
Ice rinks, whether constructed or impromptu, are amazing arenas of transformation. They allow hockey players to become battling vector motion equations, figure skaters to become dazzlingly beautiful kinetic sculptures, and tractors to become large mechanical ballerinas.
You could make a point that this Russian tractor driver and his comrades should concentrate on deicing that parking lot instead of taking advantage of the low-friction possibilities, but can you begrudge someone the rare chance to really enjoy his job once in a while?
