Mechanics in Illinois got an unexpected surprise this past week when they discovered a pipe bomb attached to the exhaust of a car in for regular maintenance.

According to the Rockford Register Star, as soon as the unidentified car was lifted up in the air, employees of F&F Tire World in Loves Park, IL noticed the small pipe bomb (seen above) affixed to the exhaust. Upon discovery, and presumably as the result of fairly questionable decision making, the mechanics removed the bomb and placed it in a bucket before calling the police.

Luckily no one was hurt in the incident and the police later safely disposed of the homemade bomb by detonating it.
