Did Chevy Just Make The Most Ironic SUV Design Study Ever?

What looks like a possible preview for a face-lifted North American Chevy Trailblazer (and Chevy Colorado) is actually possibly the most ironic SUV “design study” ever produced by an original manufacturer.

Do you see it yet? The irony?

Chevy just threw 22 inch wheels on an SUV/crossover called the “Trailblazer.”

First of all, I don’t think a Chevy Trailblazer has ever actually been effectively used to “blaze” its own trail, or even pave the way to a new automotive generation or anything generally associated with actual trailblazing. Secondly, this is just a design study for the Bangkok International Motor Show, but it also likely previews an upcoming refresh for Chevy’s North American market’s SUV offerings. There was also a truck which could possibly be the refresh for the Chevy Colorado in an “Xtreme” design study:

But look at this thing. Those “rims” are ridiculous looking on what is otherwise a very handsome SUV. Look at this photo in particular:

That looks like the trail it’s blazing is in fact a city sidewalk. I do not advise such behavior. You might scratch your 22"s, dude.

Anywho, I think this looks good enough to sell as the North American something and Colorado. I just can’t promise you those big ass “rims” wont get stolen.

Again this is just a “design study” for a different market, but it’s probably coming to North America too.
