Everyone say congratulations to the BMW X6; it's going to be a big brother.

The first photos of the BMW Concept X4 showed up online this morning, promising what is sure to be a hit among people who value style more than practicality in their SUVs. We can expect it to be "coupe-roofed" version of the X3, just like the bigger X6 is to the more practical, traditional SUV-like X5.

No details came with the photos this morning, although BMW chief executive Norbert Reithofer told Carscoops that the car will have a mix of four- and six-cylinder diesel and gasoline engines just like the X3 it's based on. It will also most likely be built in Spartanburg, South Carolina along with most other X-vehicles.

Frankly, this shouldn't be too surprising, given BMW's recent explosion of models beyond their traditional range, like the 4-Series coupe, the 5-Series GT, and the 3-Series GT.

I have just one question, BMW: if you have passengers in the back of the X4, where are their heads supposed to go?
